Glad to see this discussion. I am a Bierce descendant,(Austin/Augustine, James, Shubael, Hezekiah)through Hezekiah's son, Philo. I, too, have quite a bit of information on the Bierce line and would be willing to share what I have with you. I have not yet given close study to your postings as I am so delighted to find this and wanted to respond, but I believe the "Early Records of Plympton, Mass", published in the Mayflower Descendant, Vol 3, page 92 show all the children born to Shubael and Thankful Bierce. There is no son James listed. Did they move and have more children somewhere else? I will need to check my information (haven't looked at the Bierces for a bit of time)to refresh my memory, but I thought James in Cornwall was Hezekiah's cousin, not his brother. Fanny Meadows in her Genealogical Records of Austin Bearse... does not list a son James for Shubael and Thankful.Have a photograph of William Bierce's tombstone in Nelson OH if you want a copy. Look forward to hearing from you both.
