Here is what I found:
From Attakapas Gazette, Vol. VX, No 3. Fall 1980, page 128.
"One year after the battle of New Orleans, on January 16, 1816, he (Pierre Benivenu) married Genevieve Sophie Guicho de Kerlegand, of Frederikstown, Maryland. She was the daughter of Pierre Guicho de kerlegand and Emilie Gremblet, and was baptised in Jeremie, Santa Domingo, where her parents were residing. Sophie was broght to Louisiana in early childhood by a family slave ath the time of Toussaint L'overture slave rebellion in Santo Domingo at which time her mother and father were murdered. Many of Sopie's books carried the following quotation: "By birth, I fear no one". She died in Saint Martinville, May 16, 1843."
Ke Kerlegand, Genevieve Sophie, daughter of Pierre Dekerlegand and Emilie Grimblot, married on Oct. 4 1816 to Pierre Treville Bienvenu De Vince..Saint Martin church: v.6, #1.
Note: Pierre Benivenu served in the war under Andrew Jackson. He met Sophie in New Orleans.
