My connection to the Bieber family is through my grandmother's first cousin, Magdalena (Helen) Hallof. The Hallof family emigrated to Chicago in the early 1900s from St. Hubert which was in the Banat region (Hungary at the time).
Her first husband was Ludwig Biber (spelling according to their marriage certificate in Chicago) aka Louis Biber. He was born around 1894. He most likely was from the same region. They had a son Louis who was born in 1922 in Chicago. This Louis is the last link to the Hallof family. Unfortunately, according the Social Security death index, he died in 2003.
So ideally, I would like to get in contact with any of his children so that I can learn more about Helen Hallof and her sister Mary (was was married to Peter Exner).
