deborah my name is Charlotte, I am Decended from Equilla (Beiber) Portis. she married my 4th great grandfather Benjamin H.W. Portis in 1842 Hardeman Co, Tn. They had 3 children. Jeremiah Franklin Portis, Henry Clay Portis and Lavenia Eleanor Portis. Benjamin died around 1847 while Aquilla was P.G. with Lavenia. Lavenia and the three boys were bound over to thier grandfather, James Parnell Portis,but only the girl lived with James in Tippah Co, MS. Henry Clay was my decendant. I have all the info on all 3 of these Children. Then Equilla Married Eli Chapman. They had 7 children of their own. I did not trace each child. James Chapman was Eli's brother. Mary was Equilla's sister. The Chapman Boys parents were Jessie and Rhoda Chapman. The Beiber sisters parents were Henry B. and Amelia (Miller) Beiber.John H. was her brother John's Child.I have some of James and Mary'S Children but I did not trace them either. I have pictures of Equillas grave and some of her children but her husband Eli is not there. Do you know where He is buried? I don't know what else I can tell you.
