Linda Denise Bidwell Obit
ADRIAN — Linda Denise Bidwell, age 53, of Adrian, died suddenly March 21, 2008, from injuries incurred in an automobile accident. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, August 24, 1954, to Jack M. and Beverly J. (Kersten) Downer. She married the Reverend Robert D. Bidwell, December 27, 1994, in Palmyra. Linda graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1972. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, having previously worked at Bixby Medical Center, Adrian Health Care and Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
Linda was a loving daughter, mother and wife. She was a true dog lover and counted as family their four dogs, Gallagher, Malcolm, Duncan and Willy. She was a volunteer at Planned Pethood of Toledo, for whom she fostered more than a dozen dogs.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert, of Adrian; one son, Jason (Stacey) Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.,; her mother, Beverly Downer of Kalamazoo; brothers, Jack (Lisa) Downer of Lyons, Mich., James (Linda) Downer of Newport, Mich.; stepsons, Robert (Carrie) Bidwell, Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., and Joshua Bidwell of Tacoma, Wash.; stepdaughters, Pam Howell of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Alexis Howell-Kubler of Portland, Ore.; and grandson, Ryan Bidwell. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack M. Downer, and her beloved chow, Cheech.
Funeral services for Linda will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Hilary Shuford, the General Presbyter of the Maumee Valley Presbytery, officiating. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
