Biddy has many variants, including Beatty, Beaddie, Beattie, Biddie, even Batty. But they all begin with "B," and the substitution of a "W" seems phonologically unlikely. I would guess that Widdy is a shortened version of Dinwiddie, also spelled Dinwiddy, which like Biddy is originally Scottish. Notify Administrator about this message?
