Yes, Betty Lou, there is a village of "Biddlecombe" or "Biddle Combe".The movie you referred to also showed a "Biddlecombe Street".As a youngster, I was told that our first ancestor namesake was a tribal chieftan in the area by that name.Olde English derivation shows biddle originally as a chieftain, which later became appointed magistrate, and combe means a valley (usually fertile or green).A Maj. Biddlecombe (R.A.F.) told my father about the location of the village and the meaning of the name. Some years ago an anglican minister told me of the village where to this day there is an annual event known as "The Biddlecombe Faire".I had difficulty locating the village, and it has been the subject of discussion by many.It apparantly has been located. For further discussion I refer to the "Biddlecombe" web site at http://www.biddlecombe.demon.co.uk/bidhome.htmlhttp://www.biddlecombe.demon.co.uk/bidhome.html .
