Just dropping by to correct a long perpetrated error. John Bickmore's wife was NOT Anna Wadsworth. Her maiden name remains a mystery, although there has been speculation that she was a sister to Sedate Wadsworth's wife, Mary Smith. A theory has been put forward that this Mary Smith was actually Mary Schmidt, the daughter of one of the German immigrants that came to Waldoboro (BroadBay)circa 1750. The name Schmidt vanishes early in the records and its assumed that they were one of the families killed by Indians during that time in the southern end of Waldoboro.
