I'm glad you raised this point, because I was wondering about it myself. According to my information, Thomas's supposed mother, Ann Taylor (who married Francis Bickerton on 03/06/1759 in Warkworth, Northumberland) was buried on 08/02/1767 in Longhoughton, Northumberland, so Thomas couldn't have been born to her in 1780. However, Francis remarried, in Howick, Northumberland on 17/04/1769 to Jane Tunnah, so perhaps Jane was Thomas's mother rather than Anne.
