Hi Marjorie-My grandfather was Richard Bickerdike who married Agnes Vance and lived in Eccles, Manchester. They had 4 children,Dorothy,Marge,Renee,Arthur(my father)and John. John Bickerdike lives in Largs,Scotland and has 2 children, Alison and Robert.My father married Sylvia Tasker and had 3 children,Lynley,Natalie and myself.(Lynley and I are twins.)We all live in South Africa now and Lynley is married to Dr Warren Van Zyl and they are expecting their 1st child in Jan2001. Natalie is married to Warren Bradfield and have 2x children,Shea and James. I am also married to Louise Gordon and have no children.

Please could you send me all info you can on our family history.

What does "Bickerdike" mean ? I have two explanations 1. Bee-keeper living in a castle surrounded by a moat. 2. A person/s "bickering" over the ownership of a stream/river (dike)(dyke).

Thank God for the internet--not many of us Bickerdikes around.
