My father, Charles Jackson Thompson, Jr., was born in 1891; he often spoke of his cousin Oscar Bice. I never saw this Oscar, but always had the impression that he and my dad were about the same age.

I do not know whether Oscar was related on dad's maternal or paternal side. His parents were Charles Jackson Thompson, Sr., son of David Thompson and Jane Richey; and Lucinda Smith, daughter of Gideon Smith and Mildred Barrow. The were married in Carroll Cty Ga, later moved to Atlanta.

A Mr. Bice, whose given name I do not know, operated a machine shop in or near Hawkinsville, (Pulaski Cty), GA, in the 1950's. He had been in business there a number of years, and was highly regarded in the community. I think that he was related to my dad's line but at present I cannot recall this as a certainty.

If you know anything about these lines I would like to hear from you. e-mail dfthompson@bellsouth.net

Thanks for your time,

David F. Thompson
