Dear Caroline:

My grandmother was Florence CARNE BICE. Her father was James CARNE BICE. This James CARNE BICE was an older brother to Sampson BICE, b. 1836.

I have suspected that their mother was a CARNE, but have found no proof. Have you documented this?

James CARNE who was parish clerk for St. Columb Minor for more than 50 years was likely brother to Mrs. James BICE, mother of Sampson.

This is exciting! I must get out my data on these families.

Keep in touch, please. Susie Bartlett in MI
