I am searching for information on the parents of my grandfather, William Haskell Nelson b 12 Feb 1900, d 17 Aug 1994, McDowell Co., NC. Married: abt 1915, Carter Co., TN, Cozy Isaacs b 20 Jan 1902, Ashe Co., NC, d 28 Feb 1993, McDowell Co., NC.

William was born a Bice, but took the name Nelson when he was given to John and "Liza" Nelson for them to raise (abt 1906). He had one full brother, Fred Bice b 1902, d ? Virginia. To the best of my knowledge, Fred remained with their mother. William and Freds father died in a drowning accident and their mother remarried.

Any information on the parents of William and Fred Bice would be greatly appreciated.
