Hi Jim, My main interest is the Bible family. I am the administrator of the Bible Family database: http://www.genealogyforyou.com/surnames/bible/ancestors/ My interest in the Cooper family is only because the Cooper family married into the Bible family in VA. But I've had correspondence with Cooper researchers, mainly because I originally had Valentine Cooper (b. 1751) married to Elizabeth, or Mary Elizabeth, Bible and I couldn't place her in the Bible family. The consensus of the main Cooper reseachers was that they cannot say who (whom?) Valentine Cooper (b. 17??) married. There apparently is no proof that he married a Bible, anywhere. I have heard there's "proof" that he married someone named Mary, however, but her surname is unknown. However, many people have this information online that Valentine Cooper married a Bible so I can see how it can be confusing. However, the Valentine who was born in the 1700's (I have varying dates of birth) DID have a son named Jonas who married Mary Frances Rohrbaugh on 9 Feb 1826. I don't keep records on the other children that DIDN'T marry into the Bible family. Jonas and Mary had 2 sons who married Bibles. Valentine (the second) married Rachel Catherine Bible on 30 May 1872 in VA . Elijah married Hannah Susan Bible on 9 Oct 1873. The girls were the daughters of James W. Bible and Susannah Miller who were in Pendleton, VA (Now: WV) Does this clear up your confusion? However, if anyone can PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Valentine Cooper, the elder, did marry anyone whose surname was Bible, I would like to hear from them.
