For those of you who do not know, Bibber is a surname derivative of Vibert, a name dating back to 1274 in Jersey and for whom I have done various trees some dating back to 1470.
There seem to be a lot of people who would greatly benefit if the original James Bibber (Vibert) could be found in the Channel Islands records. I have tried to do this on behalf of several people for both Jersey and Guernsey but to no available as yet.
I would therefore suggest that you all try and gather as much info as possible about him to assist me and I will do my best to help you all.I suggest getting a copy of the death/marriage certs, census entries, ships registers etc.
you may also wish to checkout the Vibbert genforum where many messages get posted.It might also be useful to post your queries to both forums. You never know your luck!!
