Hello Brian, I haven't actively worked on my BIBBER genealogy for some time. Your posts are very interesting. I've long believed some of the information we've all learned about James BIBBER was flawed. Either he was born somewhere other than the Isle of Jersey or the name BIBBER had been changed due to pronunciation or Anglicanized when he arrived in America. One of my VIBERT contacts on the Isle of Jersey searched everywhere for a connection under the VIBERT name with no success and his trees were quite extensive. Some of Melissa's early research and mine found reference to a Thomas BIBBER born in England but I wasn't successful in going much further. You've come across some great info. My money is on John. Somewhere in my material our James is referenced as James John BIBBER. Given the closeness of that part of England to the Channel Islands and the frequency of folks traveling back and forth I'm hopeful you've discovered the missing piece. Good luck. I'll keep checking the site and maybe get become intrigued again in solving our family mystery of James' origins. How great would that be!!! Cousin Paula Notify Administrator about this message?
