Just got this tid bit of info from a man who got this info from the NEHGS for me. *********************** Mercy Bibber was baptized in 1688 in the Congregational Church in Wenham, MA. I have a sneaking suspicion that she is related to the Sarah Bibber of the Salem Witch Trials because Sarah was Also from Wenham, MA. Her husband John Bibber served briefly as a juror or something (my memory fails me now) during the Trials as well. They had a child Bibber, perhaps this Mercy is the child or a child of theirs. Also another lady wrote to me and told me that Sarah Bibber (the name has spelled this way on the Baptism record and from the lady who sent me this info from Salem, MA), that Sarah was living with the family of Thomas and Mary Jacobs for a while. Perhaps Jacobs was her maiden name. However...the point I guess to all of this is that, apparently there was a BIBBER here before James. Who we may never know unless someone can make a trip to Salem, MA and research Sarah Bibber's records and also a trip to Wenham, MA and those church records that might reveal some shred of Who the Bibber was that was there in the 1600's. This is the latest info I have and just wanted to share it with all of you here.
