Hi, I am seeking info on my dad's uncles' brass foundry. His dad also worked there for a time. They manufactured an array of brass items such as fireplace andirons, fenders, tool sets, railings and candlestick holders. I would love to acquire any piece that was made by them. The foundry existed from 1890-1934 at four diferent addresses in Boston that I know of. I would also like to hear from anyone that had a relative who worked there or has any knowledge of the family, factory, etc. The Bassill Family was of German descent. My great grandfather came to the US in 1860 which was the year Louis was born. He married Annie Girrbach and later married Elizabeth Gabel. Thanks.
