I am researching the following Milano family which came from Pietraperzia, Sicily, a small town in central Sicily:
1920 Census Boston Milano's
Philip Milano, wife Rosaria Marca (or Morca).
living at 148 Salem Street, Boston, Ma.
Children: two daughters, Lucille, 16 years, Frannie 12 years,
one son, Micheal, 24 years, and his wife Marie 28 years.
Immigrated in 1914, Michael came over in 1912.
This Philip is my great grandfather's brother(Francesco Milano, my original immigrant). I have Philip's birth certificate and marriage license, so i'm pretty sure this is the right Philip. His wife on the census and on the marriage license is Rosa or Rosaria. The age is about right, and Rosa's mothers first name is Lucia Viola. On the census they named their daughter Lucille, same as the mom's, and besides, I was told their was a Philip who went to Boston, but that's all they knew. Rosa's father's name was Giorgio Morca (or Marca, i can't make out the writing).
I would like to see if these Milano's are related to any living Milano's up in Beantown. I was told that there is a store, I think it's a furniture store, in Boston, and one in Dennisport over by Cape Cod, named Barbos. A relative of mine (John Milano) was visiting Cape Cod and talked with this fellow. Barbos mother was a Milano, who came from Pietraperzia, or something to that effect, but my relative (John Milano) didn't know our Milano's names (Philip and Rosa). It could be this chap's mother was Lucy or Frannie Milano.
I was told that a certain Knights of Columbus lodge use to be made up of many Sicilians from Pietraperzia?
