Hello, I am doing research on Leslie (Lesley?) Hawthorne Lindsay (Lindsey?) and her father William of Boston, Mass. I am compiling biographies of passengers onboard the RMS Lusitania, of which Leslie and her husband, Stewart Mason, were when the ship was torpedoed off the Irish coast in 1915. I have a few particular facts about her life, but I am wondering if anyone would be able to point me towards living relatives to access photos, more in depth biographical information, etc. Here is what I have so far: Leslie Hawthorne Lindsay, (? - 1915), but I'm assuming that she was in her early to late twenties as she was just married when she and her husband sailed. Husband: Stewart Southam Mason, (c.1885 - 1915), British. The couple was being chaperoned by one Oliver Percy Bernard, Convent Garden artist designing sets for plays written by Leslie's father. Father: William Lindsay (Lindsey?), (1851-1921), inventor of the ammunition belt. Liked to write plays in his spare time. Commissioned Chapman and Frazer to build a mansion for him on 225 Bay State Road, Boston. Supposedly built for Leslie as she liked European fairy tale castles. William lived out the rest of his life in the mansion, which was acquired by Boston University (how? donated by whom?) in 1939, now known as "the Castle." Emmanuel Church builds chapel in honor of Leslie and Stewart in 1920. More than that I have not found. If anyone could point me in the right direction, give me correct spellings, and/or put me in contact with those who may know more about Leslie, her father, or even the Mason family, I would greatly appreciate it. Please email me back at Aravantis@aol.com Also, if you are interested, the Lusitania project is online at http://www.bytenet.net/kaleidoscope/lusitania/ Sincerely, Ren-Horng Wang AIM: Aravantis ICQ: Pryaltonian 164747622 Notify Administrator about this message?
