How this all started...
I'm originaly from Belgium, currently living in CT, USA.
In the mid 80's, my father received a letter from a Bezy who read one of his book, asking if hes was
related.
I decided then that because our name is very uncommon to start genealogy research.
That is how I could go back to the 1700's. The reason I can't go further is that our oldest ancester was a
natural child from Antoine Bezy who was traveling with the french army close to the Belgian border.
I suspect he is originaly from Toulouse, South of France but could not go there to search in the local
archives.
Since there has been a major fire in Toulouse around that time, we may never find those documents again.
Then, as I was working for IBM (still am) and giving a presentation at the IBM International Education
center in Belgium, one IBMer approached me after my presentation to ask if I was related with a certain
Bill Bezy working for IBM in San Francisco.
I immediately contacted Bill by e-mail and phone and provided him with my genealogy.
This is how we could link all of the Bezy's in the US we one of my ancestor, Jean-Loup Bezy, who
migrated in 1830 (Belgian revolution) to the US.
I distributed the +/- 1000 names I collected about 5 years ago to some Bezy's in the US before going back
to Belgium.
We are now back in the US, hopefully for ever. I did not pursue my research since 1991.
I have a picture of the oldest document (in french) concerning Antoine Bezy. If I can find a software to run
my scanner, I'd be glad to scan it and post it on this site.
I have many copies of other old documents from Europe that I can share if we organize a Bezy reunion.
Nice to know that we may have more "family" in the US than back in Europe.

for Anotine Bezy's ancestors.
I tried the Mormon archives without success.
