Okay - The John Mainland that our Ann Bews was married to was born in Westray and he and Ann were married on April 21, 1787 in Piggar, Westray, Orkney Islands, Scotland. I have no dates for Ann. John Mainland's parents were John Mainland and Barbara Dearness and they were married on November 26, 1739. Ann Bews and John Mainland's son, John Mainland, was born in 1796 in Westray and he died on December 19, 1896 - in Scotland - presumably in the Orkneys. This John Mainland married Christian Sinclair 1801-1881, daughter of John Sinclair and Marion Donaldson. John and Christian's daughter, Ann Mainland was born on February 2, 1836 in Westray and died on May 2, 1925 in Hannibal, MO but she is buried in Wisconsin. She married(January 2, 1857 in Westray) Leslie Mainland, born November 10, 1823 in Rousay and died September 21, 1905 in Wisconsin. His father was Leslie Mainland 1788-, grandfather - Thomas Mainland 1767-, greatfather - Andrew Mainland 1745-. Leslie Mainland Jr. and Ann Mainland's son was Sinclair Mainland 1866-1924. Sinclair Mainland is my husband's grandfather.

Do you have any dates for these particular Ann Bews, William Bews abd Anna Harcus/Hercus?

Thanks
Jane Larish
