Tina, I'am not sure if related yet, on Esther Lorinda Bewley.
Do you know the history of Esther Lorinda Bewley? And Being one of the survivors of the Whitman Massacre?
She was held captive in A Church, in the Dallas, Oregon. By Chief Five Crow's, ( His Given Christian Name: Hezekial? ).
He was Half brother to Chief Joseph Of The Nez Perce.
Any way Chief Five Crows, Wanted A White Wife, So for two Weeks, He took her from the church in Dallas, Ore.
Where All the Survivors were held, To His Tee Pee Every Night. And brought her back every morning. It was Against her will. (This Is For Real).
But, The Preacher's Didn't help her & encouraged her to go. And when, Chief Five Crows Returned her every morning. They would ask her details about her night with Chief Five Crows, Evidently the preachers got off on it & Must have been perverts!! Of course she didn't tell them. She was disgusted!
She eventually was released & married A Man Named: Amos Chapman & lived & buried in Salem, marion Co., Oregon. I was born in Salem, Oregon, 1949. My Family were Oregon Trail Pioneers & some of the first Settlers all over the Pacific North West.
