Well that last tip on Laura Bevis was most helpful. I found an Alabama marriage record for L. J. Bevis and Archie Haggard. They married in 1891. They appear on the 1900 Census in Wayne Co, Tenn. That Census says her birthdate is Jul 1864. He dies in 1901. Sometime between 1901 and 1910, Laura marries Samuel Leroy Littleton. They appear on the 1910 Census living in Florence, Ala. He dies in 1915. I think the UNKNOWN FULMER that she marries is JOHN A FULMER. John A and Laura Fulmer appear on the 1920 Census. The interesting thing is that John A had been married to Martha A "Mattie" Bevis. No - not another Bevis!! Mattie had died in 1915. Mattie and John share a headstone and are buried in Macedonia Cemetery. I cannot find a death record for Laura Fulmer unless she married a fourth time.
There are just way too many Bevises to keep them all straight! There's too many similar names and dates. I'm sure not everything I have is correct but I try to verify as much as I can. By the way, the James T Bevis you listed as being born 20 Dec 1870 was actually born 20 Dec 1860 and died 12 Jun 1866. I found his headstone in FindAGrave in a tiny Threet Cemetery. That's another reason to think that James A Bevis married Mary Threet, not Mary Rushing.
