Hi all,
I noticed in John S Bevis, b. 1813 mothers genealogy there were some last names of Adams appearing as her ancestors. I decided to do some digging on the world family tree for both those Adams ancestors and the Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams ancestors and I found a common ancestor!
It turns out that:
John S Bevis is the 6th cousin 4 times removed of President John Adams
John S Bevis is the 7th cousin 3 times removed of President John Quincy Adams.
Please see the decendant report of a one John Adams b abt 1500 in England. You will notice immedietly at generation 1, there are two brothers who are born, Richard and Henry.
Richards line eventually turns up two presidents: John Adams and John Quincy Adams. Look at about generation #8 and person # 16. Our line comes from Henry, and down about generation # 11 you will see Sarah Somers and Thomas Bevis Bearing John S Bevis.
