Looking for the birth place and parents of Thomas L. Bevis b. abt 1750 in Georgia, d. 1826/27 in Jefferson Co., MO. Married to Polly Herod place and date unknown no more info on her. But Thomas put a notice in the Missouri Gazette paper in August of 1818 that he would not be accountable for Polly's debts as she had left him. They had 1 child Rebecca J. Bevis b. unknown. Rebecca married twice 1)John Patterson had one child William H. 2) William B. Phillips no other info on her.
Thomas L. Bevis had a common law wife Prudence Childers b. 1784 IL, d. 1858 MO. They had 5 children: William A., Thomas L. married before 1848 to a Matilda, George W. married before 1848 to a Mary M., Henrietta Margaretta Debrorah Prudence Monday Big probably died before 1848, Mary E. M. b.1826/27 Jefferson Co., Mo d. 05 May 1902 Jefferson Co., MO. married on 17 July 1846 to James Riley Dodson b. 1823 AL d. unknown in Jefferson Co., Mo. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
