Oops looks like I made an error in dates - this Mary Bevins above was apparently b. around 1717 and would not be my Mary.

So now the question remains about whom Mary Bevins b. 1734, dau. of John Bevins and Mary Boyle did marry...I'm not finding anything screaming at me (except her name) but my research indicates she did married Alexander Ross in 1767, in Cromwell, Middlesex, CT.

Alexander served in the 78th Frasers Highlanders and was wounded at the Battle of Quebec. That battalion wintered in Connecticut and the Mohawk Valley of NY so the circumstancial evidence is pilng up...
