An excellent idea about marking some of the sites pertinent to Essex Beville Sr., both here in the States and in England.
I recently visited Petersburg VA, the area in which Essex built his first home, and located the site of that property. It's on a little gut of water called Old Town Creek and the meets and bounds are easily identifiable by both the creek and the James River frontage.
I made myself known to the present occupants, a very nice couple who've heard the story before.Recently I made a JPG map of the location and will post it here if (1) there's any interest and (2) this BBS can handle the technicalities of posting graphics.
I'm impressed with the idea of hosting a meeting of the Beville Association at Pamplin Park. As many of you know, the Pamplins have a Beville lineage and are very conscious of that fact.
Now that the 700-Years of Bevilles book is out and available, I am seriously considering a re-issue of Asselia's later book, Pioneering in America. As this materializes, I'll post occasional notices here on this website.
