I have some Bevers and Beavers in my tree. I have been trying to figure out when the 'a' was dropped from Beavers because my 5th great grandfather was Claudius "Claude" Bevers. I have seen his father Fendol Bevers spelled without an 'a' everywhere except his gravestone but I find grandfather (my 7th great grandfather) spelled Beavers with an 'a'.

I was wondering if your Bevers/Beavers came from North Carolina because I was wondering if there was a connection.

As far as I have been able to get back is Joseph Beavers b 1785 NC d 1859 m Gillie Moore b 1796 NC and they had six children.

I do not have a William Beavers, Johnson Bevers, or a Jeremiah Beavers in my tree but that does not mean there could not be a connection.

Jess
