I have tried to contact Raymond Ford about this tree he has posted. I think, and I have some proofs, that Alexander (1803, son of Walter Muir (1778) and Janet Beveridge (1779-1858) did not marry Margaret Ditchburn (1803-1875) but that she married Alexander Muir (1806-1867), son of John Muir (1787-1867) and Janet Cowan (1779-1867). My sources are the statutory record of Alexander Muir's (1806) death and the 1861 Census. I wanted to know the source of his information to evaluate mine. I have e-mailed him at the address provided without success. Anyone know if he is still active? Can anyone provide official proof that Alexander Muir (1803) married Margaret?
