Hello Jean, I am currently researching the Beveridge family and specifically Henry Beveridge who married Janet White. Some time ago, I saw a document that stated that the family members belonged to the Free Church. Because of that, I realised that I would probably hit a few obstacles in the available records - I was right! I obtained a statement that Henry Beveridge married 31st October, 1794 at Halbeath in the Parish of Dunfermline, Fife. I have gone through my notes but, I'm damned if I can put my fingers on that document with that specific marriage date on it, of the marriage between Henry and Janet White. I had hoped that when I viewed the Certificates for their daughter, Isabella Beveridge, who married Henry Storrar on 21st November, 1823 at Falkland, I would see the marriage date of her parents. To the very best of my knowledge, Janet White, wife of Henry Beveridge died on the 10th February, 1879 at the Royal Infirmary at Glasgow. However, although these few brief details may help a few people out, it still doesn't tell me where that marriage date of 31st October, 1794 came from, which is really frustrating. Any assistance would be really appreciated, and, of course, I'm more than happy to share information with other people who are researching the Beveridge, Storrer, Birrel, Robertson and Melville families. My very best wishes, Tom. I'm hoping that you or someone else doing the similar work that we are, can locate that all important marriage date. Notify Administrator about this message?
