searching for Henry Beveridge I used the following: www.google.com/advanced search/exact phrase: STEVENSTON I found the following: INHABITANTS OF STEVENSTON 1819 LANDSBOROUGH LIST (ALSO LISTED IN 1822 LIST, BUT NONE IN 1836 LIST) Beveridge, David....collier...Margaret Russell...place: Brown Farm Beveridge, Henry....collier....Janet White...place: Brown Farm children listed: Andrew, Elizabeth, Helen, John, James, Henry, Janet a note on the side, which I don't understand: "Andrew Beveridge entered at side" Perhaps he was the one who gave the information? Stevenston is 74 miles wsw of Edinburgh, 30 sw of Glasgow and 19 north of Ayr. It was founded about 1170 as part of area of Steven, son of Richard Lockhard or Loccard. It is in the District of Cunningham Parish...quite a nice history to area. lots of castles - rivers, etc. Coal mining was begun....canal dug..... Note: in 1845 a cholera epidemic killed over 600 persons, a monument later erected. They were buried in common grave. Also in 1854 another cholera epidemic killed many people. Beveridge may be spelled Bevridge, Beverage, Bavrage, etc. I did not find the Henry Beveridge I need. I have no other information. I hope this helps someone with Scot ancestry.
