SPRINGFIELD - Joan Angela Avart, 57, of Springfield died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Springfield, the daughter of Peter P. and Leona L. Seiz Beveridge. Mrs. Avart was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Springfield College in Illinois. She also obtained a pharmacy technician certificate and completed a Realtors class pursuing her real estate license. She was employed as a pharmacy technician at Complete Care Pharmacy for three years and had worked as a secretary in the billing department of Wabash County Health Department for four years. She was a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Riverton for many years and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors: four sons, Arthur "Scott" (wife, Naomi) Avart III of New Berlin, Christopher and Caleb Avart, both of Springfield, and Nicholas Avart of Abita Springs, La.; three daughters, Amy (husband, Peter Jr.) Manuele of Springfield, Lori Baskett of Springfield and Rebecca (husband, Joshua) Stafford of St. Peters, Mo.; six grandchildren; sister, Mary Britz of Springfield; brother, Charles "Charlie" (wife, Marilyn) Beveridge of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Monsignor John R. Ossola and the Rev. John Beveridge officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
