I am the decendant of William Beveridge of Scotland,
I believe generally he came from 'Alva' Scotland somewhere around Stirling, migrated to Tasmania (circa 1830)on the boat the Lochele and was a cabinet maker by trade.
He or his sons bought land in northern Tasmania near Hagley and called it Alva and have recently sold it.
I have a good family tree of the Beveridge family from the time that William left Scotland but none before that.
I plan to travel to Scotland and see Alva this year and thought someone may have any further history.
