Does anyone have any info on the Beveridges from this coal mining area? I have just visited this area and have found the names Beveridge,Penman,Wilson,Muir and Hynd on the graves at the Mossgreen Cemetary. This village (Fordell) is close to Dunfermline and has alot of history. They had a brass band that marched and played in the "parade" every May. Beveridge was a well known name in this area. The family did not take to any strangers that moved into Fordell, they were refered to as outsiders. The Beveridges were there in the early 1800's right after serftom was abolished. There is also a Beveridgewell in Crossgates also in this area.My great-great grandparents Robert Beveridge and Isabella Smith were from this area.Does anyone have anything to share?
