Could your John C. Bevan be John H. Bevan (born 08/25/1829, died 06/22/1894) son of Rowland and Margaret Bevan? Most of the children seem to match his children:
Sarah Virginia, Margaret Missouri, Susan Victoria, Mary, Rowland, John C, Emma, Homer and maybe others. This is not my line so my notes are probably not complete.
If this is your line, I have a photograph of John H's headstone.
I have been told that the father of Rowland was John but have no proof or evidence. The John Clifford Bevan Jr. could be from his grandfather. Maybe a new clue??
