I don't know about John's father, but can tell you about the American branch of William Beven who married Lucinda Warren. My husband is a descendent of William. My husband's Granddfather, Albert Beven, was the son of William and Lucinda. I agree with your names and dates. William was born 2 Jan 1830, in Milton, next Gravesend, Kent, England. The church with the family records was St Peter and St Paul in Milton next Gravesend. My husband and I visited the area in 1996. We had trouble finding any definite record of the Bevens, as we didn't realize that the records are in Maidstone.. My husbands mother, Georgia Beven Wilson, said that her father, Albert Beven, said if the name is spelled "Beven" and not with an "a " that it is our family.William and his father, John were supposed to be stone masons and were to have built stone bridges in and around Gravesend. Georgia always said that she was descended from Pocohantas who is buried at the big church in Gravesend, but I find no proof of this. So, she actually visited the wrong church (per the British census which shows the records at St Peter and St Paul in Milton). I don't know much about the migration from Ohio to Kansas, but Albert, son of William, was born in Muskotah, Kansas, 21 Jan 1867. I will list that family if you are interested. Albert went to California, when he was a young man. Maria Ribbins Beven Baldwin stayed in Kansas, and she died , 3 Jan 1891, age 87,in Leavenworth, Kansas. I have a photo of Maria and William Baldwin which I can send you. Our California branch settled in Escondido, San Diego County, California. Our Bevens were South Methodists. Lucinda Warren Beven is buried in Kansas. She died 1 April 1882, Muscotah, Kansas, of tetanus twelve days after giving birth to a baby who also died and is buried with her.. Her gravestone says "d 42 years 11 mo 18 days" . Lucinda was born 12 April 1839. William went to California with Albert and died 23 Oct 1894, , and is buried in Oak Glen Cemetery in Escondido, Calif. He carved his own gravestone. William Beven was 15 when they emigrated to the U.S. I have record that John Beven was married 21 Dec 1823, Milton next Gravesend. Someone said they think John's father was Charles who married Elizabeth, but I have no details or proof.
