We have some Welsh Be(a)vans in our tree and untill recently we had no idea of their status, either socially or financially. That is untill a researcher found us the will of one of the daughter's husband. From the will it is easy to deduce that the family must have been pretty well off for their daughter to have been accepted into the husbands family of (CHILTON) We are having great difficulty getting any further back than our Thomas Bevan who married Mary Morgan. Their daughter Mary being the wife of the above Solomon Chilton a wealthy landowner. Another daughter married into the Baily family, another wealthy family. Please let me know if any of this is likely to tie in with your Bevans.
