BEVAN, A. REES: Died peacefully at the Penticton Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2005 in his 90th year. Rees was predeceased by his wife Jeanne in 1998. He is survived by his loving family; son, Barry of Oakville; daughter, Nancy Jean Broderick (Bryan) of London, Ontario; grandchildren, Flynn, Brodie, Jordie, Scott, and Krissy. Rees was born in Druid, Saskatchewan on December 15, 1915. He served during World War II with the RCAF from 1940-1945. Rees was a chartered accountant and retired as director of Revenue Canada in Penticton. Over the years, he has been an active volunteer in the community with the Hospice Society and the Retirement Centre. He was a life member of the Penticton Golf and Country Club, and a member of the Curling Club. In 2001, he was named Penticton Senior Citizen of the Year. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Rees is described above all else as a man who cared about others; a gracious and gentle gentleman. His many contributions to the Penticton community were only eclipsed by his commitment and devotion to his family and friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, March 14 at 2 pm at St. Saviour's Anglican Church, Orchard Ave., Penticton. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Penticton & District Hospice Society, 1701 Government St, Penticton, BC V2A 8J7 would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of EVERDEN RUST FUNERAL SERVICES, 493-4112.
