Obituary notice from "The Times" newspaper; London, England; October 3, 1916 (copied from original issue in hand)...page 6, column 3

"CAPTAIN CLEMENT BECKFORD BEVAN, Suffolk Regiment, who was killed on July 20, aged 28, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Beckford Bevan, of Ickworth Lodge, Bury St. Edmunds. He was educated at Haileybury and Clare College, Cambridge. He volunteered his services as motor-cyclist dispatch rider at the outbreak of the war, and obtained a commission in the Suffolk Regiment in August, 1914. He was promoted lieutenant in June, 1915, and captain last July. He served with the Suffolk Regiment in France in 1915, was invalided home, and went out again to the front last January. He was slightly wounded in the trenches in May, and fell in action in advance of his company."
