I am searching for the parents of John Beven/Bevan, my 4great grandfather. He was born c. 1800 in Rochester, co. Kent, England, and died before 1853 of injuries he received while carrying a 100 lb. sack of grain down some stairs. He was married to Maria/Mariah Ribbons/Ribbins. After John Beven's death, Maria and her children immigrated to America, eventually settling in Kansas after living in Ohio and Illinois. Sometime after 1870 Maria Ribbons Beven married William Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was killed with he fell on a fence while trimming a tree. I don't know when this occurred. John and Maria Beven had these children:
Henry b. May 1825, England; Married Jane Maria Gurnett in 1850
Eleanor b. 1826/27, England; Married Thomas Goodwin; d. 27 June 1900
William b. England; Married Lucinda Warren
John (twin) b. England; went to Australia and was lost from the family
James (twin) b. England; never married
George Thomas b. England; Married Anna Burrows
Emily b. England; d. at age 12
Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
