I have an 1891 "Biographical History of Pottawattamie Co, Iowa" which lists STACY EWINGS BEVAN (b. 1834) son of Stacy Bevan, grandson of Samuel Bevan, natives of Virginia. Stacy Sr married first Eunice Fosset of Ohio, then Jane Roberts who bore him 7 children. In 1891, Jane was living in Argonia, Sumner Co, Kansas; the family were Quakers or Friends. Stacey Jr settled in Iowa, married Sarah Beals, and had 10 children; many settling in Kansas. Both Stacy Jr and his daughter Elma J. "have been authorized by the Haviland Church of Kansas to preach & explain the Word of God, and do missionary work in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa."
