I recently received information from the 1861 census of Vaynor, Glamorgan which has information on Mary Ann (?)Bevan, mother in law to Henry Nicholas.

According to the 1861 census of Vaynor Glamorgan, Henry Nicholas was born in the parish of Deal Point(Dale Point) near Dale, Pembrokshire. He Married Mary Bevan who was born in "Bre"-- Defynock(Defynnog). This is near Brecon and Sennybridge. In the census Henry was listed as a "ironstone miner". Henry and Mary were living with Mary Ann--daughter(3 yrs) and John--son(1 yr).

Also living there was Mary Ann Bevan--Mary's
mother(57 years old at that time). She was born--Parish "Bre" at Llanvilo(Llanfilo)

I am not sure of the "county" or "Parish" breakdown referred to here. I will have to search out more information on this.

One member of the Nicholas "bunch" has indicated Mary Anne was married to Daniel Bevan

Mary Ann Bevan is buried in a cemetery near Riceville, Iowa, USA
