I am looking for information on Samual Betts (born June 21,1803 in Sheffield, England) and Jemmima Clement (born October 26, 1806 in New York). They married on August 13, 1830. They had eight children born between 1831 and 1847. Their names were Anna Augusta, Charles Flecher, George Roscoe, Joseph, Martha June, Thomas, Thomas Jefferson and William Henry. Martha, Thomas and Joseph died as children. Jemmima died March 24, 1849 in Peekskill, New York. The children were subsequently separeted and lived with different families. I don't know what happen to Samuel who appears to have emigrated from England before the marriage. The two youngest children, George and Anna, ended up with the Caleb Roscoe in Ossining, New York. He published the Westchester Herald and at Jemmima's death it states that she is the "niece" of the editor. I am not sure if this is by marriage or blood.
I would appreciate any information on either the Betts family or the Clement family. Thanks
