Adele Kerrigan Cobb "Quote"......There is a large and now widely scattered group who bear the name of Bettis who are not properly Bettis at all. The name was Beattie or Beatty.It is an Irish name that,through careless writing,filing and recording habits,finally ended in Bettis.From New York they spread everywhere.
Now come on my little Texas buddy! You yourself said Tillman Patterson Bettis was in your family tree!!!He was an Irishman! I say Tempsey was not a real Bettis at all and just because a book says it is so does not make it so according to you! First Alford and Tempsey were brother and sister a few mths. ago......then you found out they were cousins....then you changed it to twins because they were born the same year....Make up your mind dude!!
