I think I may have at least a geographical connection to your Bettins. My husband's greatgrandfather, Charles Ferdinand Bettin, born Mar 1860, Bromberg, emigrated to Chicago sometime before 1887 with his wife Ida Thiele. His death certificate gives his father's name as Ferdinand. Possibly this was Ferdinand Eduard Bettin, born 17 May 1825, son of Wilhelm Betting and Wilhelmine Rogahn?
