Hello-Hi, Charlie, If this is not Charlie Bettes from oceanside please disregard the familiarity- anyone who can help please respond...
Is this charlie from oceanside???? This is Diana - Barbara jean's daughter...
my geneology research led me to a post that you wrote about nathaniel bettes...I have documents that he was buried in the above mentioned cemetary, my mother(BJ) gave me a Daughters of the american revolution application that mentions a cousin of Claude Bettes, mary allison, dated 1912,I would be very interested to see what you have come up with- it sounds like you are way ahead of me...
My research shows nathaniel mills w bettes, being the son of nathaniel bettes who was a ensign fifer minuteman in west springfield mass... he married twice- ist wife hannah mills - died of consumption and while she was very sick he asked for a discharge... the application lists all sorts of family names and children that came after nathaniel- most of which I do not recognize...second wife candance ives, also having children- but now I think I am into gggg aunts and uncles seeing as claude was my great grandfather and mary was his cousin- I am assumming that Aunt Dot has the book you spoke of in your post? Maybe when my mother visits over thanksgiving she can copy some of it for me??
I hope this is you!! Pretty embarrassing if I am talking to the wrong charlie!!! Let me know! thanks... Do you have a website set up for your family tree??
thanks
Diana
