I'm from Brazil (São Paulo) and have ascendents in Madeira Island with a Bettencourt name. My ascendent is MANUEL DE BETTENCOURT married with MARIA TEIXEIRA around 1660 (I have no documents yet). They have one daughter called MARIANA DE FRANÇA (it spells Fransa). MARIANA DE FRANÇA married with MANUEL TEIXEIRA (born 23 January 1689) and had a son ANTONIO TEIXEIRA DA ROSSADA (born 08 September 1727). I'm still doing researchs to identify documents. Those people lived in PONTA DELGADA (Madeira Island - Portugal). I also have PACHECO names in my ascendants (from ARCO DE SÃO JORGE - Madeira - Portugal) descendents of MANUEL DE BETTENCOURT.
