One of the genealogy sites has family trees of the "stars". That's where I found out that Tom Hanks was part "Azorian." I don't remember which site it was on but you can do a "search" on Yahoo or google and possibly find it. Key words would be "Tom Hanks" and "genealogy" or "ancestors." I remember the Enos name. I wonder if we might be related somehow. My "Bettencourt" family was from Sao Jorge (St. George)too. They first settled in what is now Dublin, Contra Costa, California (not far from Livermore) and later farmed in Madera which is in the San Joauqin valley. I will have to get my map out and see where Ceres is. I lived many years in California but that town is unfamiliour to me. Azorian genealogy can be hard to do because the children don't always take their father's name. I have examples of a family with five different surnames! The explaination I got is that the children pick and chose which of the family surnames will be most influencial to them. For example: Grandpa Amarante has a lot of money or the Bettencourts are more repected then the Enoses. Often they will use two surnames. The Silviera-Bettencourt is well repected because it shows a link to the original settlers of the Azores. Kind of like having the surname of Alden (as in the Mayflower family) or Washington in this country. My suggestion to you is to try to find out which village your Antone came from. If he came from Biera, I might be able to help you further. As for your Enos family, contact the Contra Costa County Historical Society. I'll look around for an address. It's been a long time since I asked for help from them, but they were very helpful in answering my questions. I know they have a large library and they were publishing cemetery books about 15 years ago. Those books were a big help to me in finding stray family members. Unfortunately, a lot of my books and other things are in storage so I can't look up anything for you at the moment. But I will see if I can locate the books.
