Reading your question I felt some connection to a brother of my great grandmother called António Bettencourt who went from S.Jorge to Connecticut. He was a sailor. He had tree daugthers one called Julia Sylvia as far as I know. I do have a beatifull picture of all family taken in the beginning of the century in New London.
